About us

Have you already noticed that the banner ads on websites reflect your exact search history of the past few days? Does it worry you when major reports on eavesdropping and espionage, monitoring our behaviour, are being released? Have you ever thought about what people would know about us if they put all these small pieces of information together?
Internet is everywhere
The use of Internet via phone, tablet or laptop is an integral part of our daily lives. We make online purchases, attend to our personal affairs online, use the Internet and watch TV, keep in touch with friends and family via social media and we do all this from anywhere we like by the use of our home network, 4G or public Wi-Fi networks.
Cities like Antwerp and Kortrijk even give you the opportunity to use their WI-FI network so you can be online anywhere. But it goes even further: many of us wear a ‘smart watch’, or pedometer, and consider heart rate monitors and ‘medical apps’ on our phones for a moment. We share more and more information on a daily basis, often without even knowing it ourselves.

But the Internet is not always a secure place
You are not the only one who can see who you are, what you are doing, and where you are going. Everything you do online, is tracked by your own devices, forming an endless source of private data.
Not only Facebook and Google are interested in this information to serve you targeted advertising. Every day, 600,000 Facebook accounts are hacked, and every year about 250 million eBay await the same fate. The victims often do not know their privacy has been violated. All these small pieces of information combined form a reasonably accurate picture of who we are, what we do, and where we do it. For example: when we are at home, where we shop, what we buy …
But we have PaSMaN!
We don’t assume you have something to hide, but still … Do we like it all that much that companies, of which we often don’t know the name or their intentions, get all this information about us? They are trying to manipulate us every day to buy their products and are naming it ‘relevant advertising’. And it goes even further: these organisations often don’t treat our information with care. They sell it on without our permission or fail to secure the sometimes sensitive data, causing them to fall into the hands of others or get lost.
There are many examples of unpleasant and adverse consequences for those involved, possibly you. This is where PaSMaN comes in. Because there is a lot we can do ourselves! Protecting ourselves online is a bit similar to driving a car. If you wear your seatbelt, watch out, respect the rules, and drive carefully, the risk and impact of an accident will be greatly reduced.
It works the same way in the digital world. PaSMaN does not want to keep you away from these very useful apps and websites, no, he wants to teach you the right tips and tricks to use them in complete safety. This way, we combine the beauty of these technical developments with a peace of mind on our Privacy and Security.

WE THINK BIG, WE AIM HIGH
CRANIUM delivers consultants who are recruited internationally and trained to fulfil missions in different countries. The GDPR is a current challenge for European companies, but also a growing necessity for every international organization who has business relations within European borders or collects data from European citizens without even physically operating in Europe. IT security and data protection are definitely topics that need to be taken into account worldwide.
Currently CRANIUM has offices in Belgium, Hungary and the Netherlands. But we are still expanding in Europe and performing tailored missions in the US and China.
